Case Groups & Collaboration

Group related cases, share evidence across sibling matters, and collaborate with colleagues through case sharing with granular permissions.

The Problem

Related cases are managed in isolation. Multi-defendant litigation, consolidated actions, and companion cases involve the same facts, the same witnesses, and the same evidence — but in separate case files. Evidence established in one case has to be manually duplicated in another. And when colleagues need access to a case, there is no controlled way to share it.

The Solution

Attorney Workbench lets you group related cases and share evidence across them. Search one case and results include relevant documents from its siblings. Facts extracted in one case can support claims in another. Case sharing gives colleagues controlled access — read-only or read-write — with real-time updates so the whole team stays current.

How It Works

1

Group Related Cases

Drag and drop cases into groups. Related matters, multi-defendant cases, and companion cases are organized together with shared visibility.

2

Share Evidence

Evidence extracted in one case is available to sibling cases in the same group. Facts, documents, and research flow across case boundaries without duplication.

3

Invite Collaborators

Share cases with colleagues using read-only or read-write permissions. Shared cases appear in their dashboard with real-time updates.

What's Included

📂

Case Groups

Organize related cases into named groups with drag-and-drop ordering. See all grouped cases in one view with shared filing counts, deadlines, and evidence.

🔄

Cross-Case Evidence

Facts and evidence extracted in one case are searchable from sibling cases in the same group. No manual duplication — the evidence is linked, not copied.

🔍

Cross-Case Search

RAG-powered search within a case group returns results from all sibling cases. Search one case and find relevant documents across the entire related litigation.

👥

Case Sharing

Share individual cases or bulk-share multiple cases with other users. Each share has a permission level — read-only for reviewers, read-write for active collaborators.

📧

Notification Emails

When you share a case, the recipient gets an email notification with a direct link to the shared case. They see it in their dashboard alongside their own cases.

🔒

Multi-Tenant Isolation

Each user only sees cases they own or have been shared. All features — deadlines, discovery, evidence, depositions — respect sharing permissions.

Frequently Asked Questions

A case group is a collection of related cases organized together. For example, "Smith Litigation" might contain "Smith v. Jones (main case)," "Smith v. Jones (sanctions)," and "State v. Smith (criminal companion)." Grouping them enables cross-case evidence sharing and unified search.
When cases are in the same group, evidence extracted in one case is available in the evidence database of sibling cases. Facts, documents, and research results can be viewed and linked across case boundaries. The evidence is linked, not duplicated, so updates in one case are reflected everywhere.
Two levels: Read-only (can view all case data but cannot modify) and Read-write (full access to create, edit, and delete within the shared case). Permissions apply to all features within the case — filings, deadlines, discovery, evidence, depositions, and more.
Yes. Case sharing can be revoked at any time from the sharing management page. When access is revoked, the case immediately disappears from the other user's dashboard.
